Kuqa has history of over 2000 years in apricot cultivation, and more than 20 fine varities have been preserved to the present,with the biggest size of an egg,and the smallest the size of Lichee.Their colors range from red to white, to yellow and all the shades in between. The Akximishi variety of apricot is the best quality,it is meaty,alomost fiberless,juicy,and richly sweet. The unique Kuqa almond wrapped-in-apricot-meat is made from this special variety of apricot,with a one-of-its-kind processing method of weapping an almond with layered apricot meat. This traditional dried fruit had a distinctive local flavor even back in the daus of "Silk Road". For it is golden in color and sweet as honey.
